Entrepreneur Wade Conrad is called home to act as a temporary guardian for his teenage half-brother, who’s acting out and needs strong guidance. Wade feels they are both floundering, so he seeks help for Brent at Healing Heart Acres, an equine therapy center.

Erin Chase has been working as an equine therapist since her fiancé called off their wedding with no explanation three years ago. She personally enjoys the peace found through animal therapy and believes in passing on the gift. When Erin meets Wade, she’s instantly drawn to his concern for his brother, as well as his kindness and charm.

Wade treasures time spent with Erin. They both long for more, but Wade’s leaving for California soon and his brother’s needs come first. Will he take a chance on love before it’s too late?

“What’s the point of this place? Why should I come here?” Brent asked.

“How about, for starters, for the sake of a new experience?” Erin replied. “We offer a chance for people to learn about themselves by participating in activities like daily care routines with our animals. It’s a chance to do something good, too. Then all we do is talk about it afterward.” She carefully left out the part about talking about their feelings. “It’s no biggie.” She played it down, knowing how resistant some teens were about anything they were uncomfortable with. “A lot of teenagers wind up really enjoying it. By the way, the horses would rather hang out with their peers, too.”

That got a tiny acknowledgment out of him, but she hoped to convince him a bit more. “You won’t be riding them, either. That’s not part of the deal.”

He glanced up, appearing interested, or relieved, so she went in for the big sell. “And Dr. Anderson makes the best cookies and muffins every weekend.” She passed a lazy glance, hoping to reel him in since he wasn’t about to give up until she did. “You might consider our weekend program. If you’d like to try it out, you can come on a visitor pass for Saturday next week. Oh, and we’ll be setting up for our annual harvest festival for the following weekend, so we could use the extra help. If you decide you like it after that, you can sign on for a month at a time. It’s totally up to you…and your brother.”

He looked questioningly at her, as if wondering what his brother had to do with any of Brent’s decisions.

“Do you drive?”

He shook his head. “Not much. My dad started taking me out and was going to take me for the test, but other stuff came up.”

“Then I guess your brother will have to drive you, right?”

He nodded again.

“Maybe you can ask him to take you to get your permit, then he can let you drive some of the way for practice?”

She saw the light go off in his gaze. Maybe there was something for him in this arrangement, after all?

She wants a temporary fake romance

Can he make it real…and forever?

Driving across the country in an RV with her terminally ill godmother was not Daphne Merlotte’s idea. Nor was crashing the RV into a small-town coffee shop, nearly hitting local good guy Mel Greene. Now Daphne will do anything to keep her godmother from continuing the trip–even asking Mel to be her fake boyfriend. But there’s nothing fake about Mel’s intentions–he wants a real romance!

Excerpt

(Mel’s sister, Connie, has disrupted his meticulous plans to have a quiet breakfast with Daphne who has had to take sudden and—to his way of thinking—welcome refuge at his apartment.)

“Do you want breakfast?”

Daphne looked up. “If that’s not too much trouble.”

“No trouble at all.” He poured so much truth into that statement, it came out soft and mushy. Daphne colored.

“Well, I really should be going,” Connie said, and Mel didn’t disagree. At least, not until she reached his door.

“Wait.” When Connie paused, hand on the doorknob, Mel found himself at a loss for how to discuss the next delicate issue, given that the subject was right there and probably pretending that she couldn’t hear every single word. What was he thinking? Daphne ought to be included. “Daphne. I wondered if Connie might help you, uh—” he swept his hand up and down his front “—get out of my clothes.”

Daphne colored again, not prettily as she had before, but a beet red. Connie groaned. “Not now… I don’t mean what you’re wearing… Just for later.”

Daphne slipped from her chair and padded over to them. Mel looked down. Her toes were painted a bubblegum blue. She touched his arm. “I can take it from here.”

He scuttled back into the kitchen, trying not to listen to their conversation. He rattled silverware and banged shut drawers as loudly as Connie had ever done.

When their voices rose into goodbyes, Mel darted to the door and pulled out his wallet. “Here,” he said to Connie and wadded a bunch of twenties and fifties into her hand. “To cover it.”

“Holy Toledo,” she said. “I’m going to Walmart, not Rodeo Drive.”

“Bring back the change, then,” he said, and closed the door more or less in her face. “I’ll repay you,” Daphne said.

“I’m sure you will.” It didn’t matter if she did or didn’t. Like how he never cared if Seth or Connie ever paid him back. In exchange, he got a seat at the family table, the gift of being an uncle for his birthday and phone calls out of the blue to see how he was doing.

Taking a seat at the table, Daphne said, “If it’s any consolation, Connie has found a way to extract payment from me by way of community service.”

“Not surprising. What is she having you do?”

Daphne set down her coffee cup. “Be Mrs. Claus at her Christmas-in-the-Summer event.”

Mel set down his fork. Of all the sneaky… “Connie can be persuasive, but you don’t have to do it.”

“But I want to.”

“That’s what I mean. She’ll make you want to.”

“Mel.” She pressed her palms flat on the table. “I want to be your Mrs. Claus, if you’ll have me.”

A thought sprang to mind. “Does that mean you’re staying in town at least until then?”

“As long as Fran turns up safe and sound.”

Two more weeks. It might as well be a whole new lease on life. She was proposing marriage to him as a big-bellied, red-nosed man. It was a start to them dating for real. He took a doughnut and placed it on her ring finger. “I will.”

To have and to hold—

until the case is solved?

When an undercover assignment pairs laid-back Florida detective Dante Matthews with by-the-book cop Eloise Archer, he knows it won’t be easy. And not just because they’re competing for the same promotion. Now they’re living together under the same roof, and it’s getting harder to ignore his deepening feelings for his “wife.” Can he convince Eloise to partner up—for life?

He nodded his head toward her. “Where were you tonight?”

“A new club. Twilight. It just opened and Stella’s been dying to go. There were lots of women, few husbands and many male employees. Let’s just say I was glad to call it a night. Things were getting out of hand.”

“Not your scene?”

She shuddered. “Never in a million years.” She paused. “Not that I’m boring or anything.”

Dante checked the mirror again. “Didn’t say you were.”

“I just don’t understand throwing someone’s hard-earned money around for…whatever those women find pleasurable.”

“It’s not their money so they don’t care.”

“I suppose. It’s just not my idea of a good time.”

Dante opened the box of crackers. “And what is?”

Eloise laid her head against the seat rest. “Spending time with people I enjoy. Reading.” A smile curved her lips. “Filing reports.”

“Why am I not surprised.” He bit into a salty square and crunched.

“I don’t have a wide circle of friends, but the ones who are in my life are important to me.”

“Same here.”

She turned her head toward him. “Not a lot of friends, either?”

“Nope.” He took another bite.

“I didn’t expect that.”

“Why?”

“You seem like the popular guy.”

“I’m like you.” He shrugged. “I’d rather have close friendships than lots of acquaintances.”

“And your family?”

Dante pictured his mother. His brothers. Smiled. “Love them all, even if they treat me like the annoying younger brother I probably am or was.”

Eloise stared out the front window. “Someone has to be the youngest and therefore the picked-on one.”

“It gets old once you grow up.” Dante tossed the box into the bag. “You mentioned your folks. Not close to them?”

“No.” Her voice sounded so tiny. He wondered what her childhood had been like. Decided to go ahead and ask when an eighteen-wheel car carrier, lights flashing, turned into the street. They both ducked at the same time so not to be noticed in the headlights, their heads close enough to touch.

Eloise’s jasmine perfume surrounded him. Lured him closer. He inhaled, savoring the scent of the intriguing woman . She was smart, pretty and read him really well. He’d never had that vibe with a partner. Until now.

The semi rumbled by but they kept their heads down until it was safely behind them. He lifted his head, as did Eloise, and their eyes met. Dante’s pulse picked up. This close, he could feel her breath on his cheek. And admitted to himself he was in deep water as far as Eloise was concerned, because the attraction he was supposed to quash was growing stronger every day.

It took everything in him to move away from heaven, from Eloise, and focus on the reason they were in these tight confines to begin with.

Will an apple a day…

Keep love at bay?

For Cass Gentry, coming home to Lake Miniagua, teenage half sister in tow, is bittersweet. But her half of the orchard she inherited awaits, and so does a fresh face—Luke Rossiter, her new business partner. Even though they butt heads in business, they share one key piece of common ground: refusing to ever fall in love again. But as their lives get bigger, that stance doesn’t feel like enough…

GoodreadsAmazonB&NHarlequinKobo

Excerpt

When Luke is still being a pain in the neck about the coffee shop…

“Tell me again why we can’t just have the coffee shop in the center corridor of the barn. It’s plenty big enough and access is right there from both entrances. That leaves the side areas for offices or even other little shops if this thing takes off.” Luke looked both tired and impatient. And on the edge of angry.

Cass wasn’t good at standing her ground—it wasn’t something that had ever worked particularly well for her. But… “Because the coziness factor would be gone. It would never be quiet or intimate or conducive to working.” She had said all this. She knew she had. Who knew that under that straight, silky hair of his, Luke Rossiter had such a thick head?

“Working? I thought it was for coffee. If people want to work, they should rent their own office space—maybe in the side rooms of the round barn.”

“How did you get through college without studying in coffee shops?” she demanded.

“Easy. I studied in the student union or even occasionally—call me crazy—in the library. I thought a coffee shop was for drinking coffee.” He grinned, but it wasn’t his usual funny, endearing expression. It was more like a smirk.

“It is. And for visiting, studying and working. It’s a great place for parents to recharge after a day with kids. For artists to sketch and writers to write. Even for music. Open mic nights or karaoke.”

“Cass.”

“Do not speak to me in that tone of voice.”

His eyebrows shot up. He took off his cap, pushed his hair back and put it on again. “Exactly what tone of voice is that?”

“The one that says I’m too stupid to waste your time talking to. I’m not.”

“Of course you’re not, and I never for one minute thought you were. I do think you lose sight of the fact that we’re in North Central Indiana, not California or the East Coast. Things are different here. People go to coffee shops to drink coffee or get a cup for the road.”

“Oh, good grief. Were you even there when we went to those coffee shops in Peru and North Manchester and Kokomo? Have you seen the liars table at Silver Moon? Those people aren’t there just to drink coffee and eat eggs over easy with bacon—they’re there to talk.” She lifted her hands in supplication, conscious that she was raising her voice as well. It felt kind of good. “Did all those people we saw sit there in silence and drink their coffee or wait for carryout, or did some of them have laptops or notebooks or books? Were some of them actually sitting and talking to other people? Wasn’t there a guy sitting in the corner with a guitar?”

“There was, and I admit I got a little itchy to sit and pick with him a little because I’m pretty sure he was better than me. But we have the Silver Moon for that. Or—what’s the name of the tearoom now that Seven Pillars was destroyed in the tornado? Oh, right, Just One of Those Things. I’m not saying it’s not a nice thing, but Miniagua’s a small farming and resort community and I think the kind of venue you’re suggesting won’t fly here. The orchard’s doing fairly well, as you know, so is it really the time to take chances with that? We’re a down-home kind of place and we’re proud of it. We don’t need the same kind of trappings they require in larger places.”

“How many people drink coffee in the orchard store every day?”

He looked bewildered. “What?”

“How many people drink coffee in there? Besides staff, I mean.”

“I don’t know. A couple of dozen, I guess. More on nice days, fewer when it’s cold and rainy. But they’re not going to come over here to a fancy coffee shop where people are sitting with laptops and sketchpads, especially if it’s in a confined space instead of an open one.”

She walked over to look at the room she wanted to use—it had great light, great windows, the perfect amount of space—then came back to where he stood in the center of the empty barn. She counted to ten. Twice. “So what you’re actually saying is, fine, we can have a coffee shop, but only if we do everything on your terms.”

He hesitated. “I have business experience,” he said finally. “I’ve been part owner of the orchard for three years and I clocked some part-time hours here a couple of years before that. So, yeah, I think you should listen to me.”

She hadn’t expected him to admit it, and wasn’t sure how to feel about it when he did. She hated what he’d said, hated it, but she thought she probably would have hated it even more if he’d been less than honest.

“Well.” The problem with standing her ground was that it always gave way beneath her, and this time was no different. While it was true they were equal partners, she agreed that his seniority and his knowledge gave him a leg up on her when it came to business decisions. “Okay then.” She looked at her watch. “I said I’d work in the store this afternoon so Lovena Beiler could be with her daughter. I need to get over there. Sarah’s near delivery and anxious—apparently she’s miscarried a few times.”

“She has.” He nodded short agreement. “All right. We’ll talk more later?”

“Sure.” Maybe. And maybe the whole idea of a coffee shop was just a pipe dream that she should put away behind her heart and forget about.

He watched her walk away. She could feel it, but didn’t turn around, just stiffened her back and went on. She had enough failures on her résumé—she wasn’t going to let this partnership be another one because she hadn’t gotten her own way.

One Night with the Army Doc
By Traci Douglass
Contemporary Romance
Paperback & ebook, 256 Pages
August 1st 2018 by Harlequin Medical Romance

Is one night enough…

To convince her to stay?

Traveling to Alaska to film the latest episode of her TV show is just what brilliant diagnostician Dr. Molly Flynn needs. It’s the perfect escape from her family’s expectations. Until she clashes with privacy-loving former army doc Jacob Ryder over her patient’s care! Only, as friction turns into flirtation, can Molly trust that Jake sees the real her and loves her—just the way she is?

GoodreadsAmazonBarnes & NobleHarlequiniBooksKobo

Excerpt

Moose!

Dr. Molly Flynn slammed on the brakes of her rented burgundy Range Rover and veered to the berm of this oddly deserted stretch of roadway. Well, deserted except for her and the behemoth creature standing twenty feet ahead. She shifted into “Park,” then met the animal’s startled gaze while fiddling with the onboard GPS once more.

Still nothing.

Molly shook her head and snorted.

“Go to Alaska,” her executive producers had said last week. “A high-profile sports case is the best way to raise the ratings.”

Normally she would’ve told them that her soon-to-expire contract clearly stipulated she got final say on all cases portrayed on her reality medical drama, Diagnosis Critical. But, considering she was on thin enough ice with the MedStar cable network, those ratings might be the only thing saving her career. And her career was all she had these days.

Besides, she’d earned this show, darn it. Built it from the ground up without any support from her father or her family. Now she’d do whatever was necessary to save it—even if it meant traveling to Anchorage, Alaska, a place that was a far cry from the hustle and bustle of Chicago.

She took a deep breath and stared at the lush forest around her. Maybe the middle of no- where wasn’t such a bad place to be after all. It might allow her a chance to escape the spot- light for a while.

Strange as it sounded, for a person who made her living in front of the camera, she’d always seen fame as a necessary evil. Curing the incurable, solving the unsolvable medical puzzles— that was her true love, the real driving force behind why she did what she did. In fact, the thought of being able to melt into the woodwork as she saved her latest patient sounded like pure bliss, if highly unlikely. Her network’s syndication deals ensured that her show reached nearly every corner of the globe.

So much for privacy and anonymity.

Molly frowned at the digital clock on her dashboard. She’d been scheduled to meet with the chief of staff at Anchorage Mercy General Hospital twenty minutes ago, but her late-arriving flight, followed by the rental car’s faulty GPS, seemed to have other ideas.

Add in the fact that the sun was setting over Cook Inlet, which was the opposite of where it had been when she’d left Ted Stevens International Airport at least an hour prior, gave her the sinking feeling she’d been driving in circles.

Overhead, an eagle swooped through the air, its low cries eerily haunting in the autumn evening. Despite her conundrum, Molly had to admit Alaska was lovely. Too bad she wouldn’t have time to appreciate much of the gorgeous scenery, given her tight production schedule and the seriousness of her patient’s case. Work came first, as always.

The male moose huffed and shook his mighty antlers before ambling into the forest on the opposite side of the four-lane road. Molly stared wistfully at the spot where he’d disappeared into the thick foliage, wishing she could find where she belonged so easily. Then her pragmatic instincts kicked back in and she focused on her current mission—find the hospital, locate her crew, save her patient.

Michelle

Michelle is focused on her family. She grew up in a military home, moving around, and enlisted herself, where she met and married another recruit. He came back from deployment suffering from PTSD, and eventually committed suicide.

Michelle has moved her family to Toronto to start fresh, and she has no other priorities right now.

She’s kept herself fit, and can protect herself physically. She has long dark hair, which she normally keeps tied back, but when she’s relaxed she lets it down, literally. Again, I don’t have any specific images in mind, but I’m pleased with the woman on the cover – she fits as Michelle.

guest-post

First Kisses Around the World

In my May release, The Doctor’s Recovery, Mia Fiore and Dr. Wyatt Reid shared their first kiss in Africa. Unfortunately, it was also an unspoken good-bye. Unwilling to take a chance on love, Mia chose to pursue her work as a documentary film-maker rather than pursue a relationship with Wyatt. However, a scuba diving accident has brought Mia into Wyatt’s ER in San Francisco. Now, Mia and Wyatt have a second chance to discover if their love story is something real or something better left as a memory.

Mia and Wyatt shared their first kiss at a river under a midnight sky in Africa. First kisses are memorable-whether because they were awkward or unexpected or perfect. Perhaps that first kiss was the start of a fifty-year marriage. Or perhaps that first kiss was just that-a first kiss on the dating road to finding the right one. Either way, there’s something unforgettable in every first kiss.

If you want to make a first kiss even more extraordinary, here are five of the most romantic places around the world to share a kiss:

  1. The Bridge of Sighs ~ this is a 17th century bridge in Venice, Italy. Legend claims that a kiss on a gondola under the bridge at sunset will bring a couple eternal love. First kiss or a kiss between a long-time married couple, this sounds like the perfect place to share a smooch.
  2. Lovers Point State Marine Reserve ~ this beach park in Pacific Grove, California is popular for both locals and visitors alike. As this romantic spot faces east, it’s the only place on the west coast where you can watch the sun rise over the water. Beautiful place to enjoy a spectacular view of the sunrise and a perfect kiss.
  3. The Eiffel Tower ~ The romantic places to share a kiss in Paris, France are no doubt endless. However, taking the elevator to the third floor of The Eiffel Tower and sharing a kiss with your partner while looking over the City of Love seems like a clear choice.
  4. Fairy Pools ~ The Isle of Skye in Scotland seems like something out of a myth. And the idea that the Fairy Pools with waterfalls and crystal blue waters are there waiting seems like nothing more than a fantasy. Could there be a better place to discover the magic of a first kiss (or even a kiss with your husband of 18 years) then at the Fairy Pools?
  5. Hershey, Pennsylvania ~ Hershey is the hometown of the Hershey Kiss. Chocolate and romance are almost synonymous. Surely in the hometown of chocolate, there will be more than one place to steal a sweet kiss.

And while Mia and Wyatt shared their first kiss in an exotic location, their second kiss was no less romantic and memorable. The setting: a backyard garden beside an outdoor fountain.

In keeping with romantic places to share a kiss, here are some ideas for the best kiss locales a little closer to home:

  • A dock on a lake
  • Sunset on the beach
  • On a nature trail
  • By a camp fire
  • Under a star lit sky
  • Under an umbrella in a rain storm (or for those who prefer to remain dry: after a rainstorm)
  • Beneath a waterfall

Where ever those first kisses happen, some of the most memorable are the most unexpected. Maybe there is something to be said for spontaneity and going with the moment. Where was your most unforgettable kiss? And was it planned or spontaneous?

Happy Reading!

#BlogTour #Giveaway – BACHELOR REMEDY by Carol Ross

On Tour with Prism Book Tours

Book Tour Grand Finale for
Bachelor Remedy
By Carol Ross

We hope you enjoyed the tour! If you missed any of the stops
you can see snippets, as well as the link to each full post, below:

Launch – Note from the Author

Welcome, welcome! I’m so excited to once again be on tour with Prism Book Tours. Bachelor Remedy is the fifth book in my Seasons of Alaska series. The hero, Tag James, has made a guest appearance in every previous book. In addition to his reluctant status in Rankins as the town’s Most Eligible Bachelor, he also has the distinction of being my Character Most Requested to Get His Own Story. Tag is everyone’s favorite – in his world and mine! When I set out to find a heroine to win his heart I knew she’d have to be really special – and a little unexpected. I think Ally is his perfect match, even if they do get off to a rather, er, muddy start. I hope you enjoy Tag and Ally’s story!

Ally my best,
Carol

It’s All About the Romance – Excerpt

“What I’m saying is that I can’t let you win.”

Sliding her gaze toward the hand still on her shoulder, she said, “Thanks for the warning. Better be careful, though. All this looking out for me and I’ll wonder about your intentions.”

He went hands up, palms out, eyes wide, like she’d just caught him robbing a bank. “No, no. I don’t… I’m not thinking about you…like that. I promise.”

An invisible pain hit her in the chest, so sudden and powerful that she brought a hand up and placed it there. She glanced away, forcing a smile that felt brittle enough to crack her face. How could she have been so stupid? He could have any woman he wanted. Why in the world would he consider…whatever it was she’d been thinking?

Inside The Mind of an Avid Reader – Review

“You do have to pay attention to what you are reading. If you are a reader that skims as they read you may miss some great details of this book. Tag and Ally both are familiar with the medical field but Ally likes to stay true to her roots as well. They mesh so well together. This is an excellent read.”

underneath the covers – Interview

5) What inspired this book?

In a general sense, the main character, Tag James, was overdue for an HEA. He’s made an appearance in every previous Seasons of Alaska book. Readers seem to love him almost as much as I do, and I’ve received the most requests for him to get his own story. So there’s that.

When it came to setting him up with the right woman, I knew I needed a strong conflict. Ideally, one that had them at odds externally and internally, so that he couldn’t easily brush her off. Tag is a pilot who owns an air transport company that does emergency medical evacuations. Since health and alternative medicine is sort of a hobby of mine, it seemed like a good place for them to butt heads. I think it worked out beautifully and I hope readers do, too!

Remembrancy – Review

“The combination of combustive chemistry, tormented tension, an ex-girlfriend set on getting her man back, and an abundance of opinionated family members make this book a great read.”

Paulette’s Papers – Excerpt

He went with “Yes, I am. That’s exactly what I’m going to say. Except it’s I… I shouldn’t have—”

She interrupted, “You mean I shouldn’t have? I kissed you.”

“No, I mean, I know you did. But I shouldn’t have let you.”

“Let me? You seemed to enjoy it. In fact, you kinda took over there at the end. Which is no surprise. You’re used to being in control, huh? To having things go your way?”

“No! I mean, yes, of course, I enjoyed…kissing you. Obviously. But we shouldn’t have. And we’re not going to do it again. I should have, I mean I shouldn’t have…and, yes, I like being in control of…certain things. But what does that have to do with this? I don’t even know what I’m saying…” Words lost, thoughts jumbled, he scraped a restless hand along the bench beside him.

Becky on Books – Interview

What are you working on right now? What can readers look for from you in the next year?

I’m currently working on Book 6 in my Seasons of Alaska series. This is Iris and Flynn’s story. And all I’m going to say about it is that Flynn is not having an easy time taking their relationship out the friend zone!

My next book comes out in August and I could not be more excited about it! The Rancher’s Twins is the first in a five-book, multi-author continuity series called Return of the Blackwell Brothers.

Here’s my pitch: When their grandfather goes AWOL five hot rancher brothers are called home to help on the family ranch. They’re bucking family issues, wrangling their personal demons and getting all tangled up in love! (Sorry, I couldn’t resist – it’s my first rancher book.)

It’s been such an incredible experience to work on this project with my four best author friends – Cari Lynn Webb, Melinda Curtis, Amy Vastine, and Anna J. Stewart. The books will be released one per month, August through December.

E-Romance News – Excerpt

She froze.

So did he. Then he sighed because what he wanted to do was pull her close and wrap his arms around her.

“Look, Ally, I’m the one who is let down. I like you, obviously. I’ve already told you that. And I’m beyond flattered that you would even entertain the thought of being interested in me.”

She stepped toward him, right into his comfort zone, and his pulse took off like a helicopter rotor at full speed.

“How could any woman not be interested in you?” Her voice was all soft, like she was about to tell him a secret, and his blood went hot as he remembered what happened last time she’d gotten this close…

The Power of Words – Review

Bachelor Remedy is a sweet romance, as one would expect from the Heartwarming line, but there’s an unexpected complexity and depth in this story that I loved. Carol Ross is an excellent writer and her words flow smoothly across the page with wisdom and emotion. Family members from previous books in this series are involved, but this story easily stands alone.

…Bachelor Remedy is a wonderfully entertaining read. Highly recommended.”

Rockin’ Book Reviews – Reviews

“This was a delightful tale of adventure, intrigue and romance….

This is a fast-paced tale of the rescue services we often take for granted, set within the majestic land of Alaska.

The story was very well-written, captivating the reader’s interest most of the time.” – LAWonder10

“Such a good story. I really like the relationships with Tag and his family and extended family.

The characters are well-developed and easy to feel their emotions. They all have distinctive personalities. I found myself really liking all of them…

I would highly recommend this book to other readers.” – Vickie

I Am A Reader – Excerpt

“James. Tag James,” he supplied.

“Tag, huh?” Reaching out, Rita gave his shoulder a playful nudge. “You’re it.”

Wait… What? Was this woman hitting on him while Ally was sitting right here?

Rita thrust her ID in Ally’s general direction with a flat “Thanks, hon.” Eager blue eyes remained fastened on Tag. “Is this little cutie your daughter?”

Ally slid a hand across the table, threaded her fingers through Tag’s and pitched her voice to sweet. “Wife, actually. Thank you, Rita, for your meticulous and painstaking commitment to the law. You’re a credit to your profession.”

“Oh…” Rita drawled, her pale cheeks turning nearly as pink as her lip gloss. “Um…you’re welcome. Are you guys ready to order?”

Janice’s Book Reviews – Review

Ally and Tag make a really great couple but he is just not sure of the age difference. Love how he flies patients to other hospitals or from the site they got injured… I enjoyed all the characters of the book but I believe Ally was my favorite.”

Locks, Hooks and Books – Excerpt

She realized she was staring when he asked, “Is something wrong? Am I too early? I know I’m not late.”

“Um, no. I was just admiring your…you, to be honest. Your eyes change colors, sometimes green, sometimes brown. You’re so…”

Right before her, his eyes darkened, and he made a sound, part chuckle, part incomprehensible mutter while grasping the back of his neck in that way he did when he was uncomfortable. He took a step toward her. Her heart jumped toward him. She wondered if he was going to kiss her. That would be a nice change, since she’d been the one making all the moves up to this point. Which was funny, now that she thought about it, because she’d never kissed anyone first. Ever.

Until him.

Harlie’s Books – Excerpt & Review

“Noted,” she replied calmly. “My turn.”

“What?”

Ally almost laughed at his look of utter confusion. “You said we were establishing ground rules. You gave me yours. If this works the way I think it does, then it’s my turn to outline my rules?”

Narrowing his gaze, he studied her like he was puzzling out this detail. His eyes burned into hers, and she couldn’t tell if they were green or brown. Inexplicably, the back of her neck began to tingle.

“Ms. Ross writes a true winner in the line and of course, I’m one of their biggest cheerleaders. They are heartwarming, funny, relevant with romance abound. Ms. Ross delivers a winner!”

Nicole’s Book Musings – Excerpt

Ally felt the back of her neck prickle. Her gaze swept across the sea of people and quickly latched onto Tag’s. His knowing grin paired with a quirk of one brow suggested he’d been waiting for her to catch sight of him. A furnace blast of heat radiated from her core all the way out through her skin. She returned the smile, and the next thing she knew they were moving toward each other.

“Hey,” he said, stopping in front of her. “Nice of you to come today.”

Among the Reads – Review

“I think my favorite part of the story was the basketball game at Tag’s family gathering. It had some great laugh out loud moments in it.

Bachelor Remedy is a great book to pick up for a nice romantic read.”

Two Points of Interest – Review

“I enjoyed the fact that this book had a character of Native American descent. . . . I did enjoy Carol’s writing style and look forward to reading other books by her.”

Heidi Reads… – Excerpt

“Are you…serious with this?” Slipping an arm behind him to grip the back of the bench, she inched toward him, studying his reaction. “Do you really not…?”

She scooted closer. Desire and terror looked to be at war on his face. He stared at her lips and leaned away from her at the same time. She would have laughed if it wasn’t so exasperating.

“Not what?” The question sounded strained. He swallowed, his Adam’s apple bobbing in his throat.

Ally planned every beat of her next move because she wanted to catch him off guard, wanted to see the heat flare in his eyes, wanted to elicit a reaction without giving him time to think.

Hardcover Feedback – Review

Bachelor Remedy was a fun read, that kept me up late trying to finish.

I loved the setting and think the cover perfectly captures this book…

If you enjoy clean contemporary romance novels, I think you’d like reading Bachelor Remedy.

Reading Is My SuperPower – Review

Bachelor Remedy by Carol Ross has a vivid setting, engaging characters, and an electric chemistry between the protagonists. The small town feel adds to its charm, and lots of twists and turns keep reader interest high. While Tag and Ally may appear to be opposites in many ways, they actually have a lot in common where it really matters. There is still plenty to be said for the whole ‘opposites attract’ theory, however, and their witty banter and sizzling romantic tension prove why. A sweet story with just enough spice to be swoony!”

Teatime and Books – Excerpt

“Did you or did you not see a woman who you interpreted as too young for this job and then decided that you’d teach her a thing or two? You, with your wisdom honed from years of experience, would come to the aid of an inexperienced, newbie female colleague?”

“No!” That he was not doing. “Nope. No way. Don’t even try that on me.”

“Don’t try what on you?”

“There’s no misogyny or ageism or sexism or racism or any other ‘ism’ going on here. I have four sisters and a boatload of female cousins, all of whom are younger than me. Each one is equally as smart and capable as I am, more so in many, many ways. This isn’t about any of that. This is about your workplace attitude, your approach and your lack of respect. After your behavior yesterday, I would have come in here today if you were an eighty-six-year-old man wearing a honey badger suit.”

Deal Sharing Aunt – Review

“I wanted these two characters to be alone, away from their lives, and just fall in love. However they had obstacles in their way. I would love to find out how they are living 10 years down the road. I am giving this book a 5/5.”

Contemporary Romance
Paperback & ebook, 384 pages
April 1st 2018 by Harlequin Superromance

He’s looking for roots. She won’t be tied down.

Army ranger Travis Hammond needs to heal physical and emotional wounds. A job in Covenant Falls checking out equine therapy programs for veterans is a start, but it’s only temporary. And he doesn’t need a partner, especially some reporter with the persistence of a terrier and irresistible green eyes. Like Travis, Jenny Talbot’s just passing through town. Unlike Travis, Jenny knows exactly where she’s going next—back to the Middle East, as soon as she recovers from her own war injury. But there’s a bend in the road for both of them.

GoodreadsAmazonBarnes & NobleHarlequin

Excerpt

Travis led the way around a stand of trees, and suddenly they faced the falls. Water tumbled over a high cliff to the rocks below. A rainbow arched above it. A cool breeze carried spray to where they stood, sprinkling them. A look of pure enchantment crossed her face, turning it from attractive into beautiful. He had the damndest urge to take Jenny in his arms and hold her against him.

If it had been just a physical reaction, he could step away. Her delight, though, made him smile inside – and he hadn’t done that in a long time. He started to reach for her, to touch her. Snap out of it. Keep it strictly business.

Travis stepped back. Away from temptation.

“It’s beautiful,” Jenny said, licking at the moisture around her lips with her tongue. It was a natural enough reaction and sensuous without intent. He was suddenly warmer. He wanted to put his arms around her and share that sense of awe.

Bad idea. He wasn’t ready for another relationship, even a short one, and suspected she wasn’t ready for one, either. She’d been injured and was using this time to heal. He’d met many military correspondents during his years overseas, and most were as addicted to the adrenaline as soldiers were. She would be gone in a few days, and after he completed a short project for a friend, he would, too.
