#5Stars #Review – GOOD LUCK WITH THAT by Kristan Higgins

Good Luck with ThatGood Luck with That by Kristan Higgins

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book left me speechless – what a heavy hitting topic, especially for women. Why are women so hard on themselves when there isn’t a need to be? Why can’t women just live and be who they are? A heart-touching story of a group of women that are forever bounded over their struggles of weight. An easy to relate to story for all women!

#Review – THE LIFE LUCY KNEW by Karma Brown

The Life Lucy KnewThe Life Lucy Knew by Karma Brown

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My mind is perplexed with this story – I couldn’t imagine not remembering things just because I hit my head. Another one of Karma Brown‘s books has had a twist that I haven’t considered. Honest lying – who knew? An absorbing read that you won’t want to put down because you want to know how Lucy handles things.

A Year of Extraordinary Moments (Magnolia Grove #2)A Year of Extraordinary Moments by Bette Lee Crosby

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book had me feeling all the feels – happy, sad, joy, angst, etc.! I enjoyed reading about the continued growth for Tracy and how everything was going for her and Lucas. You know that Dominic wouldn’t just leave everyone alone and would be back like a virus. Every character can be easily related to someone you may know and you find yourself feeling like a part of the story. Definitely a story with extraordinary moments throughout! A heartwarming read for your next night in!

#NewRelease – A VIEW TO A KILT by Wendy Holden

A VIEW TO A KILT • WENDY HOLDEN

4th April 2019

Forget about Cool Britannia and Gallic Chic. Scotland is having a fashion moment…

London’s most glamorous glossy magazine is in trouble. Advertising revenues are non existent, and if editor Laura Lake can’t pick them up, she’s out of a job.

According to those in the know, Scotland is having a fashion moment. Haggis tempura is on Michelin-starred menus, smart spas are offering porridge facials, and a chain of eco-hotels is offering celebrity bagpipe lessons. So Laura’s off to a baronial estate in the Scottish Highlands to get a slice of this ultra-high-end market.

It’s supposed to be gorgeous, glitzy and glamorous. But intrigue follows Laura like night follows day. And at Glenravish Castle – a shooting lodge fit for a billionaire – Laura finds herself hunting for a scoop that won’t just save her job, it could save her life…

#Review – NO ONE BUTY YOU by Brenda Novak

No One But You (Silver Springs, #2)No One But You by Brenda Novak

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another enjoyable read set in Silver Springs. I’m enjoying the world building that is going on in this small town. Sadie’s fear of her ex is fairly common, unfortunately, especially when the ex is a position of perceived power. An intriguing read on your next cross-country drive!

A Christmas Date (First Comes Love #3)A Christmas Date by Camilla Isley

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Yes!! I can totally relate to Nikki – being single during the holidays is rough, especially when you have to deal with your family putting pressure on you to get married. Fortunately for me, I am an only child so I don’t have to deal with a younger sibling getting engaged/married before me or dating my crush – unlike Nikki. This book had me chuckling and loving Diego – where can I find my Diego? A festive read for a holiday weekend!

#NewRelease – GOD’S ACRE by Dee Yates

GOD’S ACRE • DEE YATES

2nd April 2019

A heartbreaking WW2 saga, perfect for all fans of Sheila Jeffries and Katie Flynn

As the drums of war begin to beat louder on the continent, and life becomes more dangerous in cities, seventeen year-old Jeannie McIver leaves the comfort of her Aunt’s house in Glasgow, to head to the wilds of the Scottish Uplands to start life as a Land Girl.

Jeannie soon falls in love with life on the busy Scottish hill farm, despite all of its hardships and challenges. She feels welcomed by the Cunningham family who value and cherish her far more than her own rather remote and cold parents, and the work is rewarding. She even finds her interest piqued by the brooding, attractive Tam, the son of the neighbouring farmer, and a sweet romance between them slowly blossoms.

But even in the barren hills, they can’t avoid the hell of war, and as local men start disappearing off to fight at the Front, Jeannie’s idyllic life starts to crumble. Those left behind try desperately to keep the home fires burning, but then Jeannie makes one devastating decision which changes the course of her and Tam’s lives forever.

Oh my goodness! This book touches on a variety of issues – addiction, mental diseases, family dramatics, and more! As I was reading, my heartstrings were being pulled for Emma so much – I wanted her to reconcile with her family, for her family to open their arms to her, and just allow her to try to make for any lost time. A women’s fiction novel for your next family vacation!

The Season of Silver Linings (A Sweet Lake Novel Book 3)The Season of Silver Linings by Christine Nolfi

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am loving everything about this series – the characters, the setting, the stories! The Sirens add some excitement to this series. This story was very intriguing with the twist of the unknown guest, who began asking questions about the past. The writing is smooth so the story flows through the pages. A fantastic read for your next beach vacation.
